The Krishna Key by Ashwin Sanghi

The first thing which strike me while I started reading The Krishna Key by Ashwin Sanshi was the striking writing similarity with Dan Brown. Ashwin’s writing style was no doubt inspired or copied, I don’t know which is right, by Dan Brown. The Krishna Key was written on the same lines of Da Vinci Code.

There are minor similarity with the plot as well. Like a microphone was planted sceretly on Robert Langdon to detech his movement which he ditches successfully to misguide the police. Similar thing also happened in The Krishna Key as well.

In both the books a young man is brainwashed and manipulated to become a serial killer citing for a greater cause which was only driven by self obsession of someone else.

There are many more similarity between the two books but if we keep them aside, The Krishna Key is still a good fast paced mythological thriller. At times there are punch of adrenaline injected into the book which makes the brain of the reader to focus even more.

One answer to the puzzle leads to the another set of puzzle which keeps the reader hooked to the book till the end. The book is full of symbols, puzzles, riddles which gives the story interesting twist and turns. If you can really bear with the over loaded researched information given in the book, it is stupendous thriller written which will keep you spellbound.

There are also speed breakers into the book. Well the story in the book goes at the rampant speed. In order to curtail its speed, Ashwin has been telling the story of Mahabharata from Krishna,s point of view. Krishna being the narrator. Though this style of Ashwin was novel something which was not there in Da Vinci Code but there was nothing new in the stories told by narrator Krishna. So honestly speaking, I’vent read any of those stories as it has nothing to do with the main story.

Verdict: Over all Ashwin has done a great work with the book. He has done intensified and extensified research but not once he lost the control over the suspense of the plot. But at the end it feels like so much ado with nothing in hand at the end. If you have taste for Dan Brown kind of thriller then Krishna Key is one for you. It will not disappoint you.
