In India, Jhumpa Lahiri is best known for her first novel, The Namesake which you later adapted into a movie by Mira Nair.The film was praised worldwide. And so was Jhumpa for writing such a fine novel.

But her next novel and recently been included in the shortlist of Man Booker Prize 2013, The Lowland is even better.

Her style of writing is very simple yet the reader flows with the writers seamless writing. Her writing is inspired by her own experience, as well as those of her parents, friends, acquaintances.
